The 15/8 favourite Horoscope was best in at the weights for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race and duly took full advantage to gain a second career win.

Aidan O’Brien’s 101-rated colt, who was a maiden winner at the Curragh in March and had run well in stakes and top handicap company since then, was pushed along early by Emmet McNamara and soon raced in second.

After hitting the front early in the straight, he soon opened up a healthy advantage and was just pushed out in the final furlong to account for Eylara (11/4) by a length and a quarter.

McNamara said: "He was entitled to win on ratings and whether he ran above himself or not I'm not 100% sure but he was a good winner on the day.

"I rode him first time out when he ran a nice race and has progressed up through the ranks and has been competing in better company. He is a nice genuine No Nay Never.

"It's my first winner since the winter and we are all trying to get rides but it is lovely to get this. It was a nice opportunity with Seamie (Heffernan) suspended and Wayne (Lordan) at Dundalk.

"I'm always looking for rides and my weight is fantastic!"
