Hourigan/Heskin strike at their local track

Local trainer Michael Hourigan saddled 7/1 shot Cloughmile to land the Student Raceday April 13th Mares Hurdle at Limerick today.

Promising seven pound claimer Adrian Heskin was always prominent aboard the Oscar filly.

The pair were in front entering the straight but were soon headed at the second last.

Heskin rallied well under pressure to regain the lead at last and kept on well to score by three parts of a length.

Winning trainer Hourigan said afterwards: "She's a grand mare and she ran well at Naas before she won at Thurles the last day."

"We'll probably go for the mares hurdle at Punchestown next. The better the ground is the better she is and she'd get a bit further too."

"I'm delighted for the owners, they bought this filly as a foal and have her seven years now. They've been very good to me."
