Hurley back in winners enclosure with Ambush

The tight track at Tramore proved no problem for newcomer Ambush Angel who claimed the concluding bumper.

Damien Skehan got a lovely run through on the rail down the hill on the Dushyantor mare to hit the lead.

The 16/1 shot stuck on well in the closing stages to hold the late charge of Silver Chief by three-parts-of-a-length.

It was the first winner 'on the track' for 20 years for Thurles handler Paddy Hurley.

"We fancied her well and had a few quid on (backed from 25/1)," said Hurley.

"My last winner was Golden Gazelle in July 1991. I gave up my licence for a while and took it out again two years ago.

"I have two in for the track and four for point-to-points. This mare will probably go for a mares hurdle at Down Royal in about a fortnight's time if she is not sold."
