UK raider Intimation ended the unbeaten run of Rose De Pierre as she ran out a good winner of the Listed Clodovil EBF Garnet Stakes.

The successful daughter of Dubawi was providing her trainer Michael Stoute with his third victory of the afternoon, as he earlier saddled a winner at Newcastle, before landing another Listed race at Chantilly with Rostova.

Winning rider Colin Keane was registering a double, after he partnered Wayside Flower to victory in the second.

Intimation recorded two wins last season, and went down narrowly in a Group 3 at Gowran on her last start.

She was sent off the 3/1 second favourite today, with Rose De Pierre the even money market leader.

Settled behind the leaders by Keane, the Cheveley Park Stud owned victor came through to lead with over two furlongs to race.

She was ridden over a furlong out, and stretched clear inside the final furlong, going on to beat the Dermot Weld trained, Pat Smullen ridden Rose De Pierre by four lengths. Flying Fairies completed the placings another two lengths back in third under Gary Carroll for Joe Murphy at 16/1.

Colin Keane said afterwards: "This morning he (Michael Stoute) sounded confident about her and she did it very easily. She did it like, I suppose, how maybe he thought she'd do it."

"She travelled very well, picked up well and loved the ground.

"Everything felt really easy to her. She travelled through them as easy as you wanted to. If anything she got there a little bit soon but she put it to bed well."
