With his first runner in Ireland Rathasker Stud resident Bungle Inthejungle was off the mark with his daughter Jungle Jane (8s into 6s) in Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Dundalk.

Racebets had priced the eight-year-old up at odds of 16/1 to be the leading first season sire (number of individual winners UK and Ireland) and this was pleasing from Jungle Jane as she made a lot of the running.

Willie McCreery 's charge, owned by Rathasker's Madeline Burns and ridden here by Billy Lee, wandered a bit inside the last. Romme switched at that stage and couldn't quite get to Jungle Jane who prevailed by a neck. Skitter Scatter ran well to finish a length and a half back in third.

"She's a sharp little filly and has tons of boot," said McCreery.

"She loves that surface and needs a good surface as she doesn't bend the knee at all.

"She's so relaxed and walking around the parade ring you'd wonder if she's asleep or what. She's certainly a very sharp little divil.

"We'll take our time with her and see where we go but the obvious race would be the Rochestown Stakes over five furlongs. That'll be ground dependent too and we won't be rushing as we have all summer.

"She was very professional and she's very fast. She's no nonsense and the easiest little divil in the yard to handle.

"Billy said he should have sat longer because she quickened again when the filly came to her. Sure they are little babies all running around the place but she's very sharp. Thank-god to get off the board."

C.T. Keane, rider of Romme trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran around a bit at the furlong marker.
