Judies Child was another winner for the Willie McCreery/Shane Kelly axis, when showing good speed to take the five furlong maiden at Down Royal.

She was nicely backed from 5/1 to 7/2 on course and Kelly had her quickly into the lead before she stayed on well to take care of Elastomer (5/1) by a length and a quarter. Horseware Express was a further three lengths away in third at 6/1. Peace Accord 4/1 to 11/4 favourite at the track, raced in rear off the pace and kept on for sixth.

“That was a long time coming! She’s a sharp, fast filly. Dundalk doesn’t suit her as she can’t turn,” handler Willie McCreery said.

“It’s great to get a winner for Lucy Lynch. Dickie her husband would have bred the horse.

“Shane was very positive on her. He said she idled a bit and got a bit lonely in front. She was the most experienced of the horses in the race.”
