The Willie Mullins trained Rough Justice (11/8f ) was made to work hard for his win, in what was likely his final bumper start, in the concluding 'Free Admission For Ladies May 23rd' Flat Race at Clonmel this evening.

Winning jockey Patrick Mullins was hard at work on the Gigginstown House Stud owned gelding for most of the home straight, eventually hitting fifth gear inside the final furlong. The pair edged ahead close home to deny B L Swagger by three parts of a length and the winning jockey later joked “I'll leave him to Davy (Russell) to ride now!

He added “he'll probably go jumping straightaway and I'd say he'll keep on the go for the summer. Hopefully jumping may bring out the best in him but the ground made a big difference as he goes a lot better at home than he does on the track.”
