Katie takes Limerick by storm

Richard Cotter from Ballynoe, Co. Cork has a great servant in the shape of his mare, Cruising Katie and she gained the fourth win of her career and her second at Limerick when she landed the Greenmount Annual Members Novice Steeplechase under Patrick Mangan.

The daughter of Beneficial led after three out and she was clear from the next on the way to accounting for the front-running Coscorrig by ten lengths. Favourite Warcraft was beaten when falling at the third last.

Cotter said: "Dairy farming is our main business and she is the only horse I have in training. Pat gave her a cracking ride and she jumped great and didn't miss a beat. I'd say that is her perfect trip and Galway would nearly be on the cards now."
