Jack Kennedy is looking forward to a good book of rides today at Down Royal on a big weekend for the Gordon Elliott yard.

Kennedy is set to get the leg up on three odds-on shots on the card starting with classy bumper performer American Mike in the opening two-mile-six maiden hurdle.

Ground conditions are set to dictate whether Fil Dor or Pied Piper represent Elliott in the featured WKD Hurdle with Kennedy booked for the latter. Mighty Potter last seen claiming the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown, is another set to go to post at skinny odds in the beginners chase on the card.

Kennedy told Dave Keena:- “Pied Piper was good in Cheltenham and he'll have come on from it so I'm looking forward to him and obviously American Mike is a horse with a big reputation.

“Mighty Potter was a good hurdler last year so I'm looking forward to riding him over fences as well.

“Everyone kind of knows that Gordon likes to start off his good horses there. It's a weekend that we look forward to every year, so fingers crossed for a good weekend.”
