The Joe Murphy trained Lady O Malley eased to victory in opener at Ballinrobe this evening, taking the Follow Ballinrobe On Facebook 3yo Maiden under Gary Carroll.
The daughter of Oratorio had six runs to her name before today, running well on her handicap debut at Galway last time out, finishing just over a length sixth to Target Acquired.
Dropping back to maiden company, and running over a mile and one for the first time, she was sent off at 7/2, after being well-supported on-course from her opening show of 9/2.
The Newtown Anner Stud owned filly made all, quickening clear entering the straight, staying on strongly from there to record an easy five and a half length success.
After running well on his debut at Galway, Tax Reform was sent off the 2/1 favourite, but he was easy to back on-course, drifting from his opening show of 6/4.
He kept on in the closing stages to take second under Chris Hayes for Andrew Oliver, while Oliver also had the third home, Velocity Of Sound who finishing a half a length back under Billy Lee at 25/1.
Joe Murphy said afterwards: "She was impressive in the end. She is very genuine and is tough little filly, she handled the track well and once she kicked on the home bend it was over.
"We’ll go down the handicap route again and she has a nice page."
The winner was sold for €7,000 as a foal, €15,000 as a yearling and £16,000 as a two-year-old.
She is a half-sister to Nice Style, who won five times, four of which were for Ger Lyons, and Crystal Idea who won a maiden at the Curragh back in 2009 for Willie McCreery.
