20/1 shot Occidental Lady powered home on the run-in to grab a shock victory in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Limerick.

Top-weight Kindly Vinnie looked set for victory as she hit the front three from home and travelled best into the straight.

A mistake at the final flight gave Occidental Lady a chance however and she grabbed it, getting up in the closing stages for a two-length success under Jonathan Moore.

It was a first winner since September 2012 for trainer Felim O'Dowd, who had been ending a 24-year drought with that previous victory.

The winning trainer was leading up his charge and his brother Jimmy said:- "We were disappointed with her the last day but she has improved at home since then.

"Jonathan gave her a great ride and rode to instructions. He is an excellent young rider.

"Felim has only two horses and trains near Camolin, Co Wexford."

Lukes Benefit looked in trouble after unshipping his jockey at the fourth but thankfully he was reported to be fine afterwards.
