Leigh back in the winner's enclosure

Trainer Declan Leigh recorded his first winner in over a year and a half when Hollywood Law claimed an eventful Westmeath Hurdle under a fine ride by Andrew Leigh.

Hollywood Law was sent to the front by Leigh four flights from home and kept on well under a strong drive to hold off Tory Hill Lad by two lengths.

Their victory was made easier by the exit of the two market principles Lucky At Last who slipped up and Dreadnot who fell four out.

A delighted Leigh said afterwards: “He has very bad legs and hasn’t won a race in two years so to get a win out of him is unreal.”

“I’ll see how is in the morning before we make any plans.”
