Long Walk makes trip worthwhile

Trainer John Kenny made the trip from Co Tipperary worthwhile when Long Walk Home scored in the mares maiden hurdle at Downpatrick.

Barry Geraghty stepped in for the winning ride and sent the Presenting mare on after the second last.

She stuck on well to score by four-lengths for Ballingarry handler Kenny, who was saddling his first winner at the course.

"I was beaten a short-head here 35 years ago!" revealed Kenny.

"We were always excited about this mare but it's one thing talking about it and another doing it.

"She loves the ground and is a cracking little mare. We'll find a winners of one and see what handicap mark she gets now."
