Luddsdenene was produced with a well-timed run by Davy Russell to claim the Lougher Stables Handicap Hurdle at Bellewstown.

The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding delivered his challenge at the second last and asserted going to the final flight.

He kept on well in the closing stages to post a four-length winning margin over 9/2 joint-favourite Res Ipsa Loquitur

The other joint-favourite No Cash Flow was seven-and-a-half lengths back in third.

“It was a low grade race. He has disappointed on his last few runs so I'm glad for Tom (Howley). We'll look for a small selling hurdle or something in England,” said Elliott afterwards.
