Ludo Et Emergo jumped his rivals into submission when making all for an impressive win in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase.

The Andrew Lee-trained gelding was gaining ample compensation having disputed the lead with eventual winner Domination when unshipping his rider at the last over course and distance last month.

The seven-year-old put in a superb round of jumping for Davy Russell, and sealed the issue with a spectacular leap at the last for a nine and a half lengths victory. The Crafty Butcher stayed on late to snatch second spot from Acapulco while Afatcat was in with a chance of minor honours when falling at the last.

Lee said, “His owner Maria Hinfelaar, who is originally from Holland but has lived in Ireland for about ten years, is President of the Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) but was unable to make it here today. She must have told the students not to back him and is in hiding!

“He got his grade today and got a good ride. Davy is the key without a doubt. He might have one more run, maybe a novice chase in Fairyhouse, before we let him off for the summer.”
