Luttrell scores in headgear

The application of blinkers did the business for Luttrell Lady as she claimed the N Conlan & Sons Handicap at the Curragh.

Pat O'Donnell 's charge settled mid-division before making up ground in the straight.

Joseph O'Brien sent the Namid mare to the front a furlong-and-a-half from home and she kept on well to score by a length from Duaiseoir

"I have to put this win down to two people," said O'Donnell afterwards.

"Fran Berry suggested putting blinkers on at Down Royal last Saturday and I also have to thank Eamon Behan the farrier here.

"She had pulled a shoe when we arrived and I thought we were in trouble. He was on the ball and got the shoe on and told us a few things to do.

"We walked her continually and got the blood up and it all came good.

"I like to keep the aids off as long as I can to give you a little bit in hand. It's nice to come here to the Curragh with a little bit in hand.

"She's owned by my sister and sister-in-law and a few friends. I also have a third share of her due to the Celtic Tiger fall out!"
