Supporters of Vector Force never had a moments worry as the gelding completed a double for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane in the mile handicap at Naas this evening.

The Kodiac three-year-old was backed from 11/8 into 11/10 favourite on course. He tracked Strait Of Zanzibar before hitting the front two furlongs out.

He was ridden clear before the furlong marker and kept on well in the closing stages to post a two length verdict over Captain Cullen who stayed on for second.

The winner had just lost out to the in-form Muscle Beach over course and distance a fortnight ago.

“He's come on a little bit from his run the last day. To be honest if he only did what he did last time I thought it would be good enough,” said Shane Lyons.

“Colin said he was very straight forward. He's in a few races at Galway but Colin said he doesn't think it's the ideal place for him.

“He's had a few races in the last few weeks and it's probably a slim enough chance that he'll go there.”
