Trainer Jane Foley recorded her first racecourse success as her Magic Vixen took division one of the Greenmount Conference Centre Mares Bumper under Patrick Mullins.

Foley who trains from her base at Ballyhane Stud near Leighlinbridge in Co Carlow took out her licence in 2009 and the winner is owned by her husband Joe.

The 5yo daughter of Old Vic was having just her second career start this afternoon after finished a decent seventh on her debut at Wexford in May behind Chiltern Hills.

Having raced under a keen hold early on, she closed on the leaders from before the straight and challenged the leader the Des Kenneally trained Shinawhil (33/1) over two furlongs out.

She hit the front inside the final furlong and stayed on best to score by a length and a half despite getting close with the runner-up Shinahwil inside the final furlong.

A stewards enquiry was called after the race but no alteration was made to the finishing positions.

The front duo went five and a half lengths clear of the third horse who was the Liam Kenny trained Nearly A Dream at 14/1 under Jamie Codd.

Foley said after the win: "She is a three-parts sister to Kicking King. Obviously with her pedigree we were hoping she would be good.

"My father Michael Hickey from Sunnyhill Stud bred her and we expected her to run well today."
