Masc gets it right in Navan opener

Dun Masc was a stylish winner of the opener at Navan, running out an impressive 23-length victor of the Tote Pick Six Rollover Maiden Hurdle.

Paddy Kennedy 's mount travelled well to lead at the third last flight and the Right Win gelding picked up well when asked after the second last to put the race to bed.

Dessie Hughes' charge galloped on strongly to pull away in good fashion, getting off the mark at the 12th time of asking.

Point-to-point recruit American Touch kept on nicely for second on his track debut.

"He's very consistent and that's overdue," said Hughes afterwards.

"He's a good jumper and will be seen to better effect on good ground. We'll look at Fairyhouse next for something over 2m6f or 3m.

"He broke a bone in his hind leg last year so has done well to come back from that."
