McDonogh seen to good effect

The opening race this afternoon The Seaview Slovakia Handicap was won by Dick Donohoe's Mt Weather with Declan McDonogh doing the steering for owners Don't Let On Syndicate.

McDonogh was seen to good effect aboard Donohue's gelding, he battled all the way to the line with Marcus Callaghan's Patrickswell and managed to get up on the line to win by a short head.

Donoghue said afterwards, "That's the horses third success this year, he's a tough horse and I thought he had no chance 1f out but we had the right man on board in Declan McDonogh and he gave him a great ride and it made all the difference. We had him entered in Listowel but with the flat races being called off we might go for a race in Dundalk with him next Weekend."
