Meade satisfied with Nicanor

Trainer Noel Meade has stated his satisfaction with his Nicanor s reappearance run to take fourth in the Inistioge at Gowran today.

The former Cheltenham Sun Alliance Novice Hurdle winner was making his reappearance from injury after 1023 days off and, although briefly looking a threat in today's race early in the straight, failed to quicken behind eventual winner Bringbackthebiff

Afterwards Meade stated "I'm delighted with the way Nicanor jumped and he just got very tired in the gluey ground. Ideally we would have preferred to run last weekend but that was not possible."

He added "the original plan with Nicanor was to have two runs before going to Cheltenham but it looks like he wont get a second run now and we'll have to see whether or not to run there - he may wait for Fairyhouse and Punchestown."
