Meade wins opener at Naas

The opening race this afternoon at Naas, The Naas Annual Membership Maiden Hurdle was won by the Noel Meade trained Donnas Palm ridden by Paul Carberry and owned by the Grand Alliance Racing Club.

Meade commented afterwards, "He was impressive, we didn't think he'd handle the ground today. We'll probably go for The Royal Bond at Fairyhouse with him next. The horse is owned by a group of 12 politicians, which includes The Taoiseach Brian Cowen."
