Review CURRAGH 18TH JUL

Ouija Board doubled up in fine style when adding the Darley Irish Oaks to her Epsom crown at the Curragh today.

Kieren Fallon produced the filly on the outside with a sustained run two furlongs from home and led soon after to beat Punctilious by a length with Hazarista running on well for third.

'We are delighted. She has proved herself a real champion. She takes time to get over her races and the Yorkshire Oaks is likely to be her next target,' said winning trainer Ed Dunlop. Owner Lord Derby also hinted that the filly could be kept in training next year.

Aidan O'Brien enjoyed better fortune, after a disappointing Saturday, with a one-two in the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes. The lesser-fancied Oratorio (9/1) proved too good for stable-mate Cougar Cat (9/2) by a length.

The pair are set to renew rivalry in the Group 1 Independent Waterford Wedgewood Stakes back here next month. O'Brien was also on the mark in the juvenile maiden with newcomer Carnegie Hall.

Trade Fair continued a fine strike rate in Ireland for trainer Roger Charlton when taking the Group 3 Minstrel Stakes under Richard Hughes.

There were plenty of clues for Galway at Ballinrobe as Galway Hurdle bound Balapour got up in the dying strides to deny Plate favourite Banasan in the Smyths Toys Hurdle.

Barry Geraghty continued his fine run of form when Barna Dream gave him his eighth winner in two weeks in the opening maiden hurdle.

Galway Breeze proved a fortunate winner of the John McMahon Beginners Chase after Anno Jubilo blundered badly at the last and unshipped David Casey, gifting the race to the Arthur Moore gelding.
