Review FAIRYHOUSE 10TH MAY

Michael Grassick and Niall McCullagh were in double form at Fairyhouse, the duo teaming up to take the final two races with Time Discloes All and Love Token.

The former gained a well-deserved first success in the auction maiden. The trainer expressed the hope that his well bred charge might now be capable of going on to better things.

Love Token had looked a promising sort in three outings last term and she came with a well timed effort inside the final furlong of the concluding older horses maiden.

Newton displayed a good turn of foot to prevail in the opening juvenile maiden. Market rival Clock Tower had poached what looked like a decisive advantage inside the final furlong but once Mick Kinane got to work on the 9/10 favourite the son of Danehill picked up well to prevail by the minimum.

Tough Chic and Pat Smullen came out on top after a tremendous duel with Full Cream in the 3-y-o fillies maiden. Trainer Dermot Weld said of his 5/2 winner 'that was a good performance by both first and second and we will now look for a suitable opportunity in winners company'.

Michael Cunningham was a happy man after Tara's Gift took the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap under Sam Curling.

Winning owner Tara Cunningham was an absentee, and her father Michael explained that she would be celebrating her hen party that evening in advance of her wedding in a few weeks time.

Catherine Gannon partnered her initial winner for Eddie Lynam when Lady Kia ran out a most convincing 3 1/2L winner of the sprint handicap.

Mighty Mist was prominent throughout in the 1m 5f handicap, Nina Carberry sending her mount on in the straight to triumph for trainer Ger Lyons.
