Review FAIRYHOUSE 30TH NOV

The success of James Bowe's two horse training establishment in Co. Kilkenny is fast turning into a racing phenomenon and he again stole the show at Fairyhouse today where he saddled the first two home in the featured Hatton's Grace Hurdle.

Although stable star Limestone Lad is on the sidelines, Solerina is proving an able substitute for Bowe and the mare defeated her half brother Florida Coast (33/1) in a fine front running display.

After the win a delighted Michael Bowe, son of the winning trainer, reported 'Solerina keeps amazing me. She never does anything at home and almost seems bored in her work. However she has a marvellous attitude to racing.'

Solerina's owner John Bowe was quick to praise jockey Gary Hutchinson, commenting 'he gave her a hell of a ride.'

Solerina is now 9/2 with Cashmans for the Stayers Hurdle next March.

Front running Newmill provided trainer Thomas O'Leary with his biggest training success in the Grade 1 Royal Bond Novice Hurdle. Garrett Cotter's mount tired in the closing stages but held the late challenge of Mariah Rollins by three parts of a length.

O'Leary later stated 'he likes to gallop away in front so we decided to make the running. He'll go for the Future Novice's Novice Hurdle at Christmas next.'

Jockey Ruby Walsh is experiencing an excellent run since returning from injury and added the Grade 1 Drinmore Chase to his recent haul of winners with Nil Desperandum. The son of Un Desperado easily defeated Catalpa Cargo by fourteen lengths with favourite Pizarro pulling up before the second last.

Trainer Francis Crowley plans to run the winner in the William Neville Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas and added 'he is very athletic and he jumps very well.'

Two Co. Clare trainers were involved in Native Scout's success in the opening 2m1f handicap chase.

Trained by Donie Hassett, Native Scout raced in the colours of Hassett's neighbour and fellow trainer Noel Glynn who purchased the gelding a month ago. Carrying top weight, Native Scout easily defeated Ross Moff by 2 = lengths.

Dual bumper winner Brave Inca benefited from his low handicap ratiing when winning the 2m4f handicap hurdle while Barry Geraghty was successful half an hour later later on Star Of Bethlehem.

The concluding bumper was won by Willie Mullins' Masriyna's Article, under stable amateur Jamie Codd.
