Review KILBEGGAN 10TH SEP

kilbeggan Report

A bumper crowd turned out for Kilbeggan's final meeting of the season on Friday evening.

Joanna Morgan teamed up with Barry Geraghty to land the featured Max Premium Dog Food Handicap Chase with the six-year-old Rocking Ship.

Rocking Ship came from off the pace to collar long-time leader Blumin Archie after the last fence and collect the first prize of almost E15,000.

Morgan said afterwards: 'this horse loves fast ground and is a natural jumper. He lost his confidence when falling at Galway, but should go on to win more races following this display.'

Geraghty went on to complete a double when winning the following beginners Chase on Johnjoe's Express. The pair went to the front early on the final circuit and had all their rivals struggling from the third last fence, winning easily by six lenghts.

Amateur rider Nina Carberry had her claim reduced to five pounds following her win against professional riders in the Tullamore Frozen Foods Handicap Hurdle. She made all the running aboard She's My Girl to win by half a length.

Jockey Ron Flavin was severely cautioned by the stewards following this race. He was adjudged to have ridden carelessly when involved in an incident on the home turn where two horses were brought-down.
