Ballycullen Boy gained an overdue win in the opening maiden hurdle when emerging the right side of a terrific duel with Irish Invader.
Maureen Danagher's charge had filled the runner-up spot on his last four starts and looked booked for second again as Irish Invader edged ahead after the last.
Casey refused to accept defeat, however, and forced his mount to the front on the line to land the spoils.
'He loves the good ground and we'll probably go chasing with him now,' said Danagher.
