Review LIMERICK 1ST APR

Hedgehunter pleased Willie Mullins as he finished ninth in his Grand National prep over hurdles at Limerick.

The 2005 Aintree hero stayed on from the back late on, over the inadequate trip, as he tuned up for his trip to Liverpool.

'I'm delighted. He jumped great and stayed on well at the end, which you would expect him to as two miles is much too short,' said Mullins.

'I just hope he is okay in the morning and over his problems. He was certainly going better at the end than he was at the start.'

Wishwillow Lord ran out a convincing winner of the contest, scoring by five lengths from Old Flame. The winner could now try to repeat last year's victory in the Menolly Homes Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Charlie Swan and David Casey teamed up to record a double courtesy of Offshore Account and Slash And Burn.

Offshore Account stayed on gamely in the closing stages of the Grade 3 Hugh McMahon Memorial Novice Chase to see off the challenge of Laetitia by a neck.

'Jumping is his forte and he is a very brave horse,' said Swan. 'Providing the ground is not rock hard he may go to Punchestown for a 3m1f novice chase there.'

Slash And Burn (4/5f) was a warm order in the opening maiden hurdle but had to work to get home by a length-and-a-half from Royal Rhythm.

Holly Tree could have a shot at one of the Grade 1 novice events at Punchestown after running out a game winner of the www.limerickraces.ie Novice Hurdle.

Dusty Sheehy's charge proved too strong for Larkwing down the straight, scoring by three-parts-of-a-length.

Candy Girl justified her short price in the Meteor Mobile Mares Hurdle when leading before the second last to beat Massini Magic by two lengths.
