Spokesman (9/4-100/30f) took the 2m amateur riders handicap for the second successive year, heading Moscow Express inside the final furlong for a 2L win.

'He will probably go for the Cesarewitch and the Leopardstown November Handicap,' said Christy Roche afterwards by phone from his Curragh yard.

Golden Storm made a big impression on his jumping debut in the 3yo hurdle, drawing clear after three out to readily account for stablemate Neutron by 20L.

'He is very athletic, and handles heavy ground well. Ruby (Walsh) was very impressed with him,' said Frances Crowley.

Dustin (Paul Hourigan) led before two out to record a convincing 6L victory over Lisard River in the 2m handicap hurdle.

The placepot pool of #7,793 is also carried forward to Tuesday's card, while the Tote aggregate was up #40,000 compared with last year's figure of #126,003 (7 races).
