Review NAVAN 18TH OCT

Apprentice Tadgh O'Shea notched a double aboard lightweights Clangigi and Chipperchatter on a low-key programme at Navan yesterday.

The teenager was seen to paricularly good effect on Chipperchatter, producing Pat Flynn's filly to lead entering the final furlong before holding the late thrust of Cotopaxi.

Cheltenham Bumper hero Joe Cullen made a low-key return to action when managing only ninth in the concluding Kilnaleck Maiden, won by Roomtoroom Express.

The five year-old was found to be 'distressed' on veterinary examination post-race.

Trainer Willie Mullins admitted that he had been worried by the prevailing soft going prior to the race, although punters did not appear to share his concerns as they supported his charge from 3/1 into 2/1 favourite.

'He will run over hurdles next time, and would obviously prefer much better ground', he added.

Kevin Prendergast's newcomer Rebelline ran out an impressive winner of the two year-old fillies' maiden.

'We haven't done too much with her at home, and she should improve', said the trainer of the full-sister to Quws, who may have a further outing in a Listed event at Leopardstown next month.

Moving On Up was confidently ridden by champion jockey-elect Pat Smullen to score in the Donaghpatrick EBF Race and is now set to revert to hurdles, according to Mark Weld, son trainer Dermot.

Johnny Murtagh, who can do no wrong at present, added another to his seasonal tally with victory on the well-backed Tachuri in the Clonmellon Maiden.

The Sheikh Mohammed-owned gelding will now head to the Horses-In-Training sale at Newmarket next week.
