Review ROSCOMMON 11TH JUL

Declan McDonogh posted a double at Roscommon on Tuesday night courtesy of Un Hinged and Breaker Morant.

Dul Ar An Ol was the subject of a major gamble in the Castlerea Maiden, backed from 12/1 in the morning to 3/1f.

He had no answer when Un Hinged kicked on two furlongs out, however, for an easy five-length success. Rostrevor stayed on for second with Dul Ar An Ol back in third.

The John Coleman-trained winner is set to go jumping: 'He's done a bit of schooling and will go hurdling soon,' said stable representative James Nash.

Breaker Morant, so impressive at Bellewstown last Thursday, defied a 5lb penalty to claim the Ballybride Handicap.

McDonogh always had the 11/10f handy and went for home entering the straight. The gelding stayed on strongly to score by two-and-a-half lengths from Wangara.

'I thought the 7f might be a shade sharp but Declan gave him a great ride. He'll go for a 9f race at Galway,' said winning trainer Adrian McGuinness.

There was also a double on the card for trainer Paul Nolan as Adastra Lad and River Mill scored.

Adastra Lad survived a mistake at the last to claim the Tote Account Handicap Hurdle by a length from the fast-finishing Cluain Rua.

'Hopefully he'll not get too much of a hike for that and we can pick up another one before he goes chasing,' said Nolan.

River Mill benefited from an enterprising ride form Laura Hourigan when claiming the concluding Strokestown Mares (Ladies) INH Flat Race.

Hourigan went for home half a mile out on the Supreme Leader mare and she soon had her rivals in trouble, coming home an easy three length winner from Bootsandslippers.

Andalucia Girl swooped late under Colm O'Donoghue to grab front-runner Situla close home in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Maiden.

Trainer John Geoghegan may now try to get some black type for the Lend A Hand filly: 'She won't get too many runs this season as we think she'll make a better three-year-old.'

Sense Of Awareness 'booked his ticket' for Galway when claiming the www.tote.ie Handicap Hurdle while Sporting Limerick got off the mark when coming with a strong run to land the Tote Ireland Maiden Hurdle.
