Jazz Messenger was the middle leg of an across the card treble for Noel Meade when running out an easy winner of the Horse and Jockey Hotel Hurdle at Thurles.

Niall Madden's mount asserted before the last in the listed contest to score by eight lengths from Holly Tree.

'He had a small setback since his last Flat run,' revealed Meade's partner Gillian O'Brien. 'He seems to run better fresh. He jumped very well today - as good as you would want him to.'

Tom Ryan posted a quick double on the card, claiming the opening two contests aboard Time To Sell and Benefit Night.

Time To Sell led two out and stayed on strongly to score by ten lengths in the Horse And Jockey Hotel Handicap Chase.

Benefit Night was left in the lead three out in the Molony Cup Handicap Chase and stayed on well to get home by four lengths from Riverside Project.

Eagle's Pass survived a mistake two out to run out an impressive winner on his jumping debut in the Moycarkey Maiden Hurdle.

5/4 favourite Ponitum had to work hard in the other maiden hurdle, getting up close home to deny Lemonfield.

Idealrise scooted clear two out for an easy success in the Holy Cross Novice Handicap Hurdle while Fond Of A Drop was also impressive when taking the concluding bumper.
