Review TIPPERARY 14TH SEP

Mill House Girl made all the running and jumped very well on her way to overturning the odds-on Telemachus in the featured novice hurdle.

A high class bumper mare who had sufficient pace to take a maiden on the strand at Laytown nine days ago, Andrew McNamara's mount had the upper hand from two out on the way to a comfortable 2 1/2L win.

Shane Donohoe's daughter of Basanta pulled up when 5/4 favourite on her last outing over flights but that is best forgotten as her saddle slipped before five out on that occasion.

Abide With Me may have drifted very much to his right in the closing stages of the opening maiden but those who supported him at 1/3 were always fairly confident of collecting.

A son of Danehill out of the 2000 Moyglare heroine, Sequoyah, this fellow had finished runner-up to Shelbourne Hotel Goffs Million entry, Blue Coral at the Galway Festival.

The Ballydoyle outfit, responsible for Abide With Me, were expected to double-up in the nursery with Naigani, but this well-backed favourite could only manage third.

Here top first season sire, Invincible Spirit, would have had his eighth individual winner in this country had Daring Spirit, first past the post, been allowed to keep the race, but he was disqualified.

Giftware, who finished a head behind Daring Spirit, was awarded the win in the steward's room. The Fran Berry partnered filly was slightly hampered and checked inside the final quarter mile.

Tom Hogan's 10/1 shot had then run on strongly to only just fail. For the Tipperary handler, Giftware's success made it five winners for the month of September.

Though difficult to load, Tiznow's half-sister, You're Beautiful soon settled third, challenged in the straight, led over a furlong out and was soon clear to comfortably land the fillies maiden.

Wayne Lordan steered this Mrs John Magnier-owned David Wachman-trained juvenile. The 2 1/2L victor found takers at eights being returned at 7/1.

Daramas (backed from at least 11/4 in the morning), the 6/4 favourite, looked to be in trouble when headed after taking over from three out in the maiden hurdle but he found extra on the run-in to triumph by a length.

Sean Levey rode Paris Sue a winner for the second time in the sprint h'cap. A fourth success in all for the apprentice, this grey mare made virtually all for a 1 1/4L win over Lilly Be.

Trained in Dunleer, Co. Louth by restricted licence holder, Marcus Callaghan, the 6yo was recording her fifth career victory.
