Review TIPPERARY 15TH SEP

Ballydoyle produced yet another potential star, at Tipperary, when Chenchikova made a promising debut in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Kieren Fallon gave High Chaparral's full-sister a nice introduction to racing as she gained a comfortable two-length success over Nautical Design.

The Sadler's Wells filly was coaxed along before the straight and grabbed the lead at the furlong pole. She was soon in control and didn't need to be asked a serious question to secure victory.

'She did it well,' said Fallon afterwards. 'I like her - she has a great attitude. She'll appreciate going further and will learn a lot form that. This is a good track for educating horses.'

Chenchikova was promoted to the top of the ante-post lists for next year's Oaks. Cashmans made the filly a 20/1 shot while Paddy Power and Boylesports go 16/1.

Another regally-bred Ballydoyle newcomer, Poseidon Adventure, proved no match for Wilman in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C&G) Maiden.

Ken Condon's colt showed the benefit of his recent Leopardstown debut when leading early in the straight and easing down close home for a comfortable length-and-a-half victory.

The other juvenile event on the card, the Kilmallock Nursery, produced a terrific finish with the field stretched across the track in the closing stages.

The Jim Bolger-trained Glasog, who came up the stand rail, proved the strongest close home as she got the better of I Key by a head.

The other five-furlong contest, the Super Sunday At Tipperary Handicap, witnessed Dafaroun flying home in the closing stages to record a three-parts-of-a-length victory over Libras Child.

Sauterelle built up a useful lead after the fourth in the Premier County Maiden Hurdle and kept on well in the closing stages to see off the challenge of Mount Grace by two-and-a-half lengths.

There was a tragic end to the Sean Barrett Bloodstock/Aon Novice Hurdle as the winner Kalabar collapsed crossing the line. Tony Mullins' gelding suffered a broken leg.
