Despite boasting a field of just three, the opening two year-old maiden proved one of the main talking points at Tipperary last night.
Things went very much as expected in the race itself, with the Ballydoyle newcomer Irawaddy duly disposing of his two rivals in what amounted to little more than a schooling gallop.
However it was the performance of second-placed Addario which was the focus of attention afterwards, with the stewards noting the explanations of trainer Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning over her running and riding.
The filly, making her racecourse debut, wasn't subjected to a hard race but in the eyes of her rider achieved the best possible placing.
The winner meanwhile, a grey son of Nureyev bred by Cash Asmussen, and sent off at 1/5 (from 1/6) will now be considered for Royal Ascot.
Manning and Bolger were on the mark later in the evening when Always Famous landed a fair gamble in the Gowla 'Breed 'N Grow' Handicap, holding favourite Askthejudge by a head.
The latter was travelling best early in the straight, but was momentarily tapped for toe when Manning drove his mount to the front a furlong out in what proved a race-winning move, and couldn't recover the deficit in time.
