Review TRALEE 31ST AUG

Norman Williamson, who will be based in Ireland this season, rode his first winner since returning from injury at Tralee on Saturday when taking the O'Mahony Packaging Hurdle on the Edward O'Grady-trained Find The King.

Williamson, who returned to action at Ballinrobe last Sunday, had been sidelined for over three months having suffered a frcture of his right leg on the opening day of the Punchestown Festival in April.

He enjoyed the easiest of comeback winners on the smart four-year-old, pulling clear in impressive fashion after the penultimate flight.

'Its a relief to be quite honest. I am very happy to get a winner and it was great that it was for the bossman.

'My leg is still a little weak and I am a bit lame walking, but its fine riding. It is now full steam ahead', said Williamson.

It was fitting that Charlie Swan should get among the winners as Istabraq, with whom he enjoyed so much high-profile success, was paraded during racing.

Swan was seen at his strongest when getting Aquila Oculus to the front close home to beat Czar Of Peace in the Brandon Hotel 4yo Handicap Hurlde.

Tony Mullins, who trained the winner, said, 'She is not at home over hurdles as she is on the flat but hopefully time will fix that. The Listed Oyster Stakes at Galway is next for her.'

Mullins completed a double in the concluding Grand Hotel Flat Race when Claramanda, narrowly beaten on each of her previous starts, got the better of Dirk Bay to win under Pat Murphy.

Molly Ware Street, a most consistent sort, came good for trainer David Broad when winning the Finches Sparkling Orange Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Under a fine ride from Robert Colgan (20), the 6/1 chance readily beat gambled-on favourite Better Look Out by a length and a half.

Aidan Fitzgerald produced Dajazar at the final flight to win the Tralee Vintners Paddy Kearns Memorial Qualified Riders Handicap Hurdle. The Philip Rothwell-trained winner won by four and a half lengths at odds of 14 to 1.

Loughbeg Rambler, a winner here on Tuesday, came with a late run to deny Lord Grey an all-the-way success in the Spectra Photo Labs Handicap Chase with Mark Grant getting the 11/4 chance up in the final strides to win for trainer Donie Hassett.

The Finches Sparkling Orange Ladies Handicap was divided and yielded winners for Liz Lalor on Charmante Femme and Laura Hourigan on Mykon Gold which she rode for her father Michael.
