Ruby Walsh moved two ahead of rival Davy Russell in the race to be champion jumps jockey when completing a treble at Tramore.

The jockey was seen to his magnificent best on Hows Trix in the Sultan Properties Handicap Chase, as he was pushing away on the 5-1 second favourite some way from home.

Long-time leader Renepogel looked to have repelled all challengers when jumping the last in front but Walsh would not be denied, driving Hows Trix to grab the spoils on the line.

The first leg of Walsh's treble came when Captain Conflict strolled to an effortless success in the five-year-old Saltan Properties Maiden Hurdle.

A five-length winner of a bumper at Downpatrick on his last start, the Willie Mullins-trained 8-13 chance oozed class as he pulled nicely clear on the turn for home to record another five-length victory, this time over Dan Kahtan.

Walsh grabbed his second winner on board Something Grand (6-1) in the Saltan Properties Handicap Hurdle.

Producing the four-year-old fast and late, Walsh reeled in Thats My Pet in the final furlong to finish half a length to the good where it mattered.

The veteran Torrid Kentavr (25-1) returned to winning ways with an impressive late burst to take the 81-109 Saltan Properties Handicap Hurdle.

The 11-year-old arrived on the scene full of running to takes over at the last and finish three lengths to the good of long-time pacesetter By The Brook.

Strolling Home atoned for a couple of near-misses when scooting clear in the closing stages of the opening Saltan Properties Maiden Hurdle.

With favourite Imperial Hills all but knocked out of the race at the first flight it was left to Patrick Martin's charge to outpace Arviz in the closing stages to score by a length and a half at 8-1.
