Review TRAMORE 28TH JAN

Elizabeth Lalor, who will be 20 on Thursday, partnered her second winner under rules on Charmante Femme in the lady riders handicap hurdle as racegoers braved bitterly cold winds on the Saltan Properties sponsored card at Tramore.

Pat Flynn's charge produced a renewed challenge on the stands side to lead on the run-in for a two and a half length verdict over Mellowthemoonlight. 'I knew she was as fit as a flea coming here today, and all my horses are working out of their skins at the moment,' said the Carrick-On-Suir handler.

The father and son team of Tommy and Philip Carberry teamed up to land the handicap hurdle with Jerry's Pay Day, who always travelled well in beating Aghacashel Angel by two and a half lengths. 'We have been trying to get him to relax and enjoy himself. He settled much better today, and stays well,' said Carberry senior who has 16 in training at present.

Barry Geraghty brought his tally for the season to 71 when making all aboard Uncle Murt in the novice hurdle. The seven-year-old gelding quickly settled the issue when drawing clear after two out to beat Native Design by 13 lengths.

Hidden Genius justified evens favouritism under Shay Barry in the opening four-year-old maiden hurdle, leading on the inner two out before going on to beat Heronstown by three lengths.

Garvivonnian, a six-time winner over hurdles, got off the mark over fences when staying on well under Tom Treacy to deny Say Again by half a length in the beginners chase.

The jackpot pool of e8,838 is carried forward to the next meeting here on March 15 after Connemara Mist landed the handicap chase in the hands of leading claimer Keith Hadnett.
