Moi Desire shows her heart

Moi Desire landed the spoils under a well-judged ride from Eddie O’Connell in the two mile three furlong mares hurdle at Kilbeggan.

O’Connell produced the Eoin Griffin-trained mare after the last to collar Paul Carberry and Brave Beauty to win by three parts of a length.

Successful trainer Griffin commented: “The rain here just left the ground nice. She disappointed a bit on her final two runs last year for whatever reason but this race was ideal for her being a winners of one for mares.

“She may go to Galway although I plan to go chasing with her pretty soon. I’ve schooled her and she jumps well. I will look for a mares beginners chase.”

Moi Desire came home at 10/1 while runner-up Brave Beauty’s SP was 3/1. The favourite, Sugar Bullet was again from the Dessie Hughes stable and she finished third at 2/1, a further four lengths back.
