Money on Ten Bob proved correct

After the gambled-on success of Groody Hill at Punchestown on Wednesday the green and gold of J P McManus hurt the bookmakers again at Naas today when Ten Bob (7s into 4s) landed the Keadeen Hotel Supporting Kildare GAA Handicap Hurdle under Mark Walsh.

Colm Murphy trains the successful five-year-old, coming here off the back of a 217 day break. The money on him was well-invested as he raced to a pretty convincing win from Beir Bua

Murphy said: "I'm delighted with that. He had been a little bit disappointing because of the ground.

"We'll find something similar for him now. He's probably after improving and hopefully the handicapper isn't too hard on him.

"We won't aim too high. He is a hardy little horse as it's tough out there today." (EM)
