The 9/4 favourite Royal Moll kept on best to land the bumper at Sligo, the Littlewoods Ireland Mares INH Flat Race, for the father and son team of Willie and Patrick Mullins.

The six-year-old daughter of King’s Theatre was making her debut this evening, and she cost €19,000 as a foal at Goffs back in 2007. Dainty Diva for Harley Dunne and Donal Coffey, attempted to make all, as the winner raced close up on the outer.

She was ridden into fourth two furlongs out, improving to lead a furlong from home, staying on well from there to score by two lengths.

First reserve, Little Mitch kept on well close home to take second at 25/1 under David O’Leary for Sean Doyle, while Rock High Lady was half a length back in third, also at 25/1.

Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "I leased her off Chich Fowler and she told me that she would win a bumper. I’d like to dedicate this win to her (passed away in March).

"The owners have been very patient as she has had a few niggly problems.

"She is still very green and I think she will improve a tonne for that. I think she will make into a nice staying hurdler."
