Murtagh receives three day suspension

Jockey Johnny Murtagh received a three day suspension following his winning ride on Fiery Lad in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF August Handicap at Dundalk.

The stewards' report reads:

The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after turning into the straight involving Dollar Chick ridden by W.M Lordan, Fiery Lad, ridden by J.P Murtagh and Ballet Boy ridden by F.M Berry where it appeared Dollar Chick suffered interference and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion J.P Murtagh had ridden carelessly and they suspended him for 3 racedays.
