Nama lunges late to win bumper

Presenting Nama got going late to grab victory in the bumper at Clonmel under Pa King.

The gelding looked held in third over a furlong out as Littletown Lass and 11/10f Anderson Mcauley battled it out.

But the John Halley-trained son of Presenting got motoring close home to get up for a three-parts success over Littletown Lass. Optic Measure finished well for third as Anderson Mcauley faded into fourth.

The winning trainer, well-known as a vet for the Coolmore operation, was not on hand to welcome back his charge.

"John couldn't make it. I think he is attending a horse with colic," said head lad Harry Kelly. "He's the last horse Mick Aherne (late husband of owner Monica) bought."

"It's nice to win at the local track. He'll get one more run and then we'll put him away as he's a summer horse.

"We'll mind him and pick a few little races for him. He's still growing. This was a lucky track for Mick and that's for him."
