Natural an Ebor possible

Dermot Weld is considering a tilt at the Ebor Handicap in York next month with Natural High despite the gelding only finishing third when favourite for the featured Guinness Handicap at Galway this evening.

The lightly-raced son of Sadler's Wells was ridden close to the pace throughout by Pat Smullen before finding no extra in the closing stages when third (beaten less than two lengths) to Rajik and Scandal Sheet

However Weld was still quite upbeat saying: “I think he may have found the mile and a half trip a bit sharp. He's a better horse than we saw today.”

“He's in the Ebor and that's still a possibility. I wasn't too hard on him in the lead up to this race, and he should have a bit of improvement,” Weld added.
