Nedzer successfully Returns from injury

The bookmaker-bashing Gordon Elliott bandwagon rolled on to Fairyhouse today, where the Grand National winning trainer claimed the John McCarthy Memorial Hunters Chase with Nedzer's Return

The son of Bob's Return (4/1 - 7/2) was ridden by Colin Motherway and eventually recorded a comfortable nine lengths win, with 7/4 favourite Having A Cut pulling up in the race for the second consecutive year.

Elliott, trainer of Cayo Levantado which landed a monster gamble at Punchestown last Wednesday, reported of Nedzer's Return “he broke a bone in his leg 18 months ago and we left him out in a field and thought he'd never run again.”

He added “today's was a weak race, and while he doesn't quite stay three miles, we may now go to Aintree for the Foxhunters Chase for the craic! Nedzer's Return is owned by my girlfriend Annie Bowles.”
