Neworleans different league

Down In Neworleans ran out a facile winner of the second division of the Fethard Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel, making all under Danny Mullins.

Mags Mullins' charge pulled away from his rivals before the straight and the result never looked in doubt from there.

The warm 11/10 favourite (from 11/8) popped over the last two on his way to a 28-length success over Sorted who stayed on into second without ever looking a threat to the winner.

"He's a big weak horse and is only coming to himself now. He's improving the whole time," said the winning trainer afterwards.

"He's a huge horse and wants a fence - he'll go chasing next year. Danny gave him a lovely ride.

"He had a disappointing run last time but he blew up as he missed a bit of work due to the frozen spell."
