Nicholls targets Plate again with Cimbre

Paul Nicholls has his sights set on consecutive wins in the William Hill Galway Plate on July 29. The British champion trainer landed the valuable pot last year with Oslot, and has pinpointed the novice Roby De Cimbre as his number one contender for this year's renewal.

"The Galway Plate has been Roby De Cimbre's long-term target and I think he'll go to Galway with a big chance," said Nicholls, whose charge has been allotted a weight of 10st 9lb. "He has a similar profile to Oslot and fingers crossed, he'll run a big race."

Nicholls also has Hoo La Baloo entered, while the other British entries are Venetia Williams' Lord Jay Jay, Alan King's King Troy, Mark Todhunter's Tell Henry, Sue Smith's Crozan and Nicky Richards' Native Coral.

Willie Mullins is responsible for three of the 62-strong list of possibles, including top weight Deutschland, a winner at Dundalk on Sunday. "I'll have to wait and see how Deutschland has come out of his race at Dundalk at the weekend and then I'll analyse the race and see if he'll take his chance," said Mullins.

"I hope to have at least one runner in the race because the Galway Plate is a special race and I'd love to win it."
