No Blues for Ruby and father Ted

Jockey Ruby Walsh combined with his trainer/father Ted Walsh to win the feature event at Cork yesterday, the E27,000 Kevin McManus Bookmaker Hurdle, on board Heavenly Blues

The gelded son of Kallisto raced in second before improving to lead before the straight, responding gamely to Walsh Jnr's urgings to eventually defeat Bahrain Storm by a length and a half.

Ted Walsh later reported "Heavenly Blues stays and jumps well and was entitled to win this race on ratings - the handicapper got it spot on!"

He added "we may go for a Flat handicap next and the Cesarewitch is a possibility."
