O'Grady makes swift Cash and Go raid

Trainer Edward O’Grady's only runner at Wexford today, Cash And Go in the opening 60th Anniversary Of Racing At Wexford Maiden Hurdle, made the perfect start to his hurdling career with an impressive win, under Barry Geraghty.

The son of Sulamani, a half brother to O’Grady’s Grade 1 winner Catch Me, moved to the front before two out and in the end sauntered home to a 13 lengths win over Scots Gaelic

Afterwards O’Grady stated “he got the job done, is a brother to Catch Me and we can dream for the moment that he will be as good as him!”

“It’s difficult to place four year olds at this time of year and we won’t rush him - he may have one more run before Christmas. Today’s race looked a good race on paper and Barry (Geraghty) was impressed by him and by his jumping.”
