The David Marnane trained Octavia (6/1) foiled the gamble on Ebbaya as she made all to take the last at Naas, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Narrowly beaten on her last two starts in handicaps the daughter of Acclamation reverted back to maiden company today.

Sent straight into the lead by Connor King she went a few lengths clear entering the straight.

She was ridden over a furlong out and kept up the gallop in the closing stages to win by two lengths at the line.

Ebbaya, who was 3/1 last night, opened on-course at 6/4 before going off the clear even money favourite.

She was ridden in fourth two furlongs out and kept on well in the closing stages to take second under Shane Foley for Mick Halford. Vintage Charm (12/1) was a further half a length back in third under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger.

David Marnane said afterwards: "She always worked well and I was getting frustrated with her. She wasn't being un-genuine but just got nabbed a few times.

"I'm delighted for the Global Equine Syndicate who bought three yearlings two years ago and two of them have now won. They will go again this year.

"She is in tomorrow at Cork and we will see how she pulls out before making a decision."
